Our initiative is very simple. Instead of winks and nods from out-of-state corporations charming a few elected officials, we want to ensure the people of Butte are comfortable with the details. It’s too easy for out-of-state corporations and lobbyists to influence politicians on major decisions, so we simply want to force them to convince all of us in an open manner.

We’re not opposed to data center development. We’re opposed to backroom deals, ever-changing promises, and political spin driving decisions. There are more unanswered questions than anything right now. The money expended by out-of-state corporations and big tech billionaires necessitates reminding every level of government there’s a reason why the preamble to the US Constitution begins with “We the People”.

Our stance remains clear: Convince the people with facts and concrete protections with real benefits, and you’ll have no problem building.
